The after day 1.
Just completed the first run/walk of the 6 days a week 8 week run/walk program, deep, deep, down I thought it would be a piece of cake but I was wrong. In fact, I did not complete the last two cycles of running. My legs started feeling really tired, and my flat feet starting acting up. I wore walking shoes over running shoes since this part of the program involves more walking than running but I think I need a shoe with more arch support. When you first start out on anything new it's usually hard so in case this post is giving off a negative vibe I am still really hopeful. I’m looking forward to tomorrow the walk day; I may add a little weight lifting tomorrow.
Back on Track
I'm getting back on track with my goal to run at 7.0 for an hour on the treadmill. This weekend my sister and I went to a nearby trail and took a health walk and it felt so good to be moving. We ran a bit, but that little bit help me know that I still got a little something still in my tank.
I just goggled an 8-week beginner walk program that I’m going to start tonight. I don't like having to start over again at the bottom but in the past I think I've tried too much too fast and ended up doing nothing. This program will have you running for 30 minutes at the end of 8 weeks. I did a plan like this before and it worked for me so I know I’ll have success. I'm going to start tonight so I hope to log back in and update with my progress. I'm going not think to hard about my long-term goals but for now I’m going to focus on my short term goal, finishing this program and running for 30 minutes at the end of 8 weeks.
The program is 8 weeks long and involves 6 days a week of exercising. During the first week you run/walk for 30 minutes and just walk for 30 minutes on alternate days of the week until you reach day seventh day and on that day you rest. When you walk/run you walk for 2 minutes and run for 1 minutes 10x which will total 30 minutes.

I'm sore...winner.
Today was the first day of BOOTCAMP. Yes that is BOOTCAMP in all capitals letters. I must admit though that is was not as tough as it was last year when I attended one BOOTCAMP class, but it still was a much more intense workout than I'm use to, my poor knees are wondering what they did to deserve the punishment. The BOOTCAMP instructor he had us running sprints which I never do when I run, I usually do a very modest jog. I’m still debating if I’m going to attend the workout 5 days a week or 3 days a week, it is suppose to rain tomorrow so this fact may move me into the 3 days a week category. Either program, 3 or 5 days, will be a much needed boost to my current exercise regime which is 3 or 5 days a month.
